Phantom Checkers

Dear Monsieur/Madam,

My webmistress here has kindly taken her time to inform me that you wish to challenge me to a fair game of checkers. I will gladly oblige, given that you follow the rules and you treat my dreamer with the utmost respect. I do suppose you know how to play checkers, otherwise she will be the one to give the directions - and I expect you to intelligently follow them.

May luck be on your side and your wits about you.

Point of the game:

Whoever has the most checkers by the end of the game wins, or has trapped the opposite player so they cannot move anymore forward.

Rules / Directions:

* You may only move your piece diagonally, not up or down, left or right.

*You cannot move backwards unless you are kinged. (You're kinged when you see a "K" in the corner of your piece; the opposite is kinged when the mask turns black)

* Keep in mind that your piece is the rose while Erik (or the computer, for all you practical people) is the mask.

* Click on your piece first (it will be hilighted), then click on the location where you want the piece to be. You will get the hint of how the game goes when you start to lose ;-)

Now that that's done with, I hope you can manage the game - after all, it is fairly simple. In fact, I beat Erik myself quite a few times in the past, and he has never actually forgiven me for doing so. Good luck!

A quick note, mesdames/messieurs, if you do not mind:

Just to let you all know, my lovely Eleanor did not really win against me. One can do wonders by pressing the 'refresh' button on an internet browser so many times - or the 'restart' button. The poor girl had been on the verge of losing when she decided to restart the game without letting anyone win.

I do not expect you to be like her. Cheaters never prosper, my dear - they deserve to be punjabbed.

Do not listen to him - that is only the half-truth. I really did beat him without cheating. He's just having a bad day with the management as usual and he just lost his girl to a rich preppy.
